Condensation builds on the dash when installing in the cold. If installing in a cold environment, start the truck and run the maximum heat/defrost for a few minutes so the windshield is condensation-free BEFORE securing the mounting plate to the windshield.
If installing in a semi / dump truck and no power is reaching the camera, ensure the key is turned to the accessory power position. Ensure the master battery disconnect is not off.
If no power is reaching the camera, try starting the engine to turn the vehicle on.
The SmartLink dongle has a light that blinks when powered on. You don't need to connect the full camera to verify power is coming from the harness.
Allow the mounting plate adhesive to set for 5–10 minutes before attaching the camera to ensure a secure fit.
Before mounting, peel off the blue protective film covering the camera lens. If this film is left on, it will block the camera's view. Check the lens closely, this film can be easy to miss and has caused several cameras to record with a blocked view.
